Garrison Keillor, who brought Mid-Western values to the nation through his beloved radio program “A Prairie Home Companion,” endorsed Hillary Clinton for president in a moving essay on Facebook that’s already been shared nearly 100,000 times. Keillor addressed the baseless rumors about her health and other conspiracy theories and related his own experiences...
Donald Trump apparently believes a good offense is the best defense. He railed against allegations he purposely used the Star of David to symbolize Jews in a campaign meme about Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. He’s hail Mary? Disney did it, too! Say What? The meme, blasted over Twitter under Trump’s name, shows Clinton against a backdrop of $100 bills....
Sarah Palin’s endorsement of Donald Trump may help solidify his support among hard-right Republicans. But it could turn out to be the kiss of death for his presidential campaign, should he win the party’s nomination for president. GOP Sen. John McCain selected her as his running mate in 2008. She proved to be a highly polarizing figure and he lost to President Obama. Not much has changed since then....
Carly Fiornia, the only woman vying for the GOP presidential nomination, lambasted the “liberal media” for trying to demonize a Colorado loner who murdered three people at a Planned Parenthood Clinic. She called him a “protester” not a domestic terrorist. Meanwhile, Planned Parenthood President Vicki Cowart said the organization has become the target of “hateful rhetoric,” and “smear campaigns.”...
Nissy Aya slammed the core curriculum at Columbia, saying it focuses too much on “powerful, white men” and marginalizes her as a minority woman. (Photo: Facebo...
Donald Trump has an infectious personality and bodacious hair, no doubt about that. But what about ideas? He gave a major interview on the “Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” but when it comes to the issues he’s bald as a baby. How about this for a junior high school essay question? What does Sept. 11th mean to you? Trump knocked it out of the park....
Donald Trump has declared he’s running for President for real this time in 2016, but there’s more to a campaign than grandiose boasts and he’ll have to explain his complex finances which have pushed him to the brink of bankruptcy more than once. Trump, 69, would be one of the oldest candidates in the race. Donald Trump has declared he’s running for President for real this time in 2016, but there’s more to a campaign than grandiose boasts and he’ll have to explain his complex finances which have pushed him to the brink of bankruptcy more than once.

James Taylor, the iconic folk-rock singer has followed every president since Dwight Eisenhower in the 1950s, and he’s sold on President Obama as the best chief executive in our time. Hillary Clinton, he says, also gets his endorsement. The five-time Grammy Award winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee has sung about social issues since the start of his career in the 1970s....
Edward Norton has become the latest celebrity to join a growing list of Hollywood A-Listers who are becoming increasingly active on political issues. He’s taken a stand against “fracking” in his home state in a new radio advertisement. Fracking is a process that uses water, sand and chemicals to blast oil out of rock and shale well under high pressure. Norton, 45, lends his voice to a radio advertisement on behalf of a consumer rights group known as “Food & Water Watch.”...
Susan Sarandon, the Hollywood actress known for her political activism, has a new cause. She is campaigning along with womens’ groups to replace Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill with a notable woman. Would you believe Betty Friedan? The 68-year-old actress announced her support today (Mar. 24) on her Facebook page in a photo holding a $20 bill. “I want to see a woman on the $20 bill. Post your own photo & join me,” she wrote....
George Clooney is urging international banks, gold refiners, the London Bullion Market Association and special interest groups to take the profit out of Sudan’s rape of Darfur, where soldiers have carried out genocide against residents. The brutal occupation has allowed the Sudanese government to exploit the region’s gold production, Clooney wrote in an opinion piece today (Feb. 25) in The New York Times....
Emma Watson stepped back onto the world stage today (Jan. 22) at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, but appeared naive politically, after she appeared on a Ukrainian magazine cover amid the country’s conflict with Russia. Watson was at Davos as part of a UN mission to promote women’s rights around the world. As a UN representative, it’s imperative that she remains politically neutral. But her appearance on the cover of the new issue of Ukrainian magazine Joy is a propaganda victory for the embattled nation. Amber Heard and Kim Kardashian have fallen into similar traps. ...
Mike Huckabee, who is considering running for president in 2016, offers a rare glimpse inside his head and it isn’t pretty. In a new book, he goes on a number of bizarre rants including calling rapper Jay Z a pimp for sexually “exploiting” his wife, Beyonce. The musing and more are contained in his new book “God, Guns, Grits, and Gravy.” He also takes on everything from TSA agents at airports to same-sex marriage, which he ultimately sees leading to three-way marriages between a man, a bi-sexual partner and another man or woman. Does that seem possible?...
North Korean dictator Kim Jung-Un has raised the political stakes considerably with his country’s sponsorship of Sony’s hacker attack. As bad as that was, terrorist threats against movie theaters directly challenged the security of the United States. It can’t go unanswered. Sony was placed in a difficult position. It should have faced down the threat and defended freedom of expression. As difficult as that may have been, it was the best course to prevent future cyber attacks and threats of violence. Instead, it chose to stand on its wallet....
Selena Gomez has about as much political sense as Kim Kardashian. She posted an Instagram photo urging her fans to “pray for Gaza,” apparently without realizing the political implications of the message. Whether it’s Kim Kardashian voicing support for “Palestine,” or George Clooney supporting neo-fascist groups in the Ukraine, the end result is often embarrassment....
Angelina Jolie, acting as a special envoy for the UN High Commission on Refugees, opened a four-day conference in London today (June 10) focused on ways to help rape victims in war zones and curb such war crimes. She was joined by British Foreign Secretary William Hague and attendees from more than 100 countries, according to the UN. Jolie has taken her work as a special envoy, largely a ceremonial role, very seriously....
Bob Goodlatte, a conservative Republican congressman from Virginia is a darling of decidedly liberal Hollywood moguls, even though he supports the NRA, opposes abortion and wants to repeal ObamaCare. But nothing greases a palm like self-interest. Paramount’s Brad Grey and Adam Goodman, Warner Bros.’ Kevin Tsujihara, Fox Searchlight’s Nancy Utley, BMI’s Del Bryant and Universal Music’s Zach Horowitz are on the list, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

Brian Williams sits down with Edward Snowden to find out who he really is. Since he released mounds of classified documents embarrassing to the U.S. government, he’s been portrayed as a lowly “hacker.” But he says he’s much more than that. Williams traveled to Moscow to meet with the former National Security Agency employee. Branded a spy, he’s currently on the lam. In a short clip of the interview released by NBC ahead of tonight’s interview at 10pm (Eastern), Snowden goes to some length to explain exactly who he is. ...
Joel McHale skewered President Obama and celebrities during his keynote address at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, D.C., Saturday night. Who knew laughing could hurt so much. McHale, best known for hosting E! TV series “The Soup” and the NBC comedy series “Community,” made pointed jokes about ObamaCare and the prison at Guantanamo Bay....
Erykah Badu, who once stripped naked in Dealey Plaza where President John F. Kennedy was assassinated as part of a protest against racism, is under fire herself for cozying up to Africa’s worst dictators. Badu has been in a running battle with critics since lasts week, for performing at the birthday celebration of Swaziland’s King Mswati III. The absolute monarch rules with an iron hand. ...
President Obama couldn’t have picked a worse time to visit Japan. Justin Bieber is there! The Bieb’s has already upstaged the president by inadvertently paying homage to a shrine to World War II era Japanese war criminals. President Obama was trying to show U.S. resolve by pledging to support Japan’s governance of some disputed islands off the coast of China. But who knew?...
Stephen Colbert isn’t really a right-wing-bashing liberal in conservative clothing, although he plays one on his Comedy Central television show. Yet right-wing talking head Rush Limbaugh thinks the fat-head skewering character is real. D’oh! On his radio show today, Limbaugh wailed that CBS’s decision to replace David Letterman, no right wing radical, with Colbert is equivalent to declaring “war on the heartland of America.”...
Bryan Cranston may play a bad ass on his hit show “Breaking Bad,” but that doesn’t mean he’s a bad ass in real life. But the simple fact was lost on the folks at Fox News yesterday (Apr. 7), who lambasted the actor for supporting ObamaCare. ...
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo prides himself on his hard work for the people of New York, but he apparently has enough time on his hands to fiddle around with a Top Ten send-off for late night talk show host David Letterman. Letterman has hosted “Late Show With David Letterman,” from the Ed Sullivan Theater in mid-town Manhattan, since 1993. He announced his retirement this week and will step down in 2015....
