Kristen Stewart was photographed in the arms of Rupert Sanders in July 2012. He was married, she was dating Robert Pattinson.
The tabloid flight of fancy was reported by OK magazine, which has a sketchy history for getting the facts straight–or having any facts at all.
In this case there is no evidence, no sightings and no photographs of the two together. So if they dated, no matter how briefly, they kept it decidedly on the down low. And, if they were that secretive about it, it’s unlikely they broadcast the news to anyone else.
Nonetheless, the tabloid trots out the usual anonymous sources who seem to know the most intimate details about Stewart. How odd that they would betray her so easily.
The story has about as much validity as a separate report that Stewart’s hair is falling out over the stress of breaking up with long-time boyfriend Robert Pattinson, which her reps laughed off.
As the story goes, Kristen reportedly reached out to Sanders after his wife and mother of his two children divorced him. But the 42-year-old director reportedly rejected her advances.
Sanders married Ross, sister of Oscar-winning composer Atticus Ross in 2002. He and Stewart were photographed embracing each other in public in July a year ago. Although Stewart and Pattinson reconciled after the affair, they broke up for good earlier this year.
Pattinson is now reportedly selling the Los Feliz house they briefly shared.
Meanwhile, it’s not like Sanders has a lot of free time on his hands. He’s been working overtime.
He’s involved with the Frederick Forsyth adaptation “The Kill List” and a sci-fi love story “The Juliet.” After that, he’s scheduled to team up with “Breaking Bad” writer George Mastras on a new movie about a renegade drug enforcement squad.
Since mid-August, Stewart has been tied up filming her next picture “Sils Maria,” with Chloe Mortez and Juliet Binoche.
