Selena Gomez stunned in a bikini for her movie ‘Spring Breakers’ now out on DVD and Blu-Ray.
Gomez starred with Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine in one of the talked about films of the year.
For Gomez, it was the raciest film of her young career, even though she played the most straight-lace girl. Hudgens and Benson did most of the risque heavy-lifting, while Korine, wife of writer and director Harmony Korine, had a brief topless scene.
The picture just managed to cross into “fresh” territory with a 65 percent rating from critics on rottentomatoes. But surprisingly, half the people who saw it wouldn’t recommend it to a friend. It scored only 51 percent by that measure on the review-tracking site.
Spring Breakers Bikini Extravaganza
The picture only pulled in $32 million worldwide, but since it was shot on a shoestring budget of $5 million, it’s possible a sequel could be in the future. James Franco’s character was so off the wall he deserves another shot.
Hudgens marked the film’s DVD released with a tweet her fans, yesterday (July 9). “Spring Breakers is out on DVD today! Have you gotten your copy? ;)” she wrote. Such a little huckster!
In the movie, the girls Brit (Benson), Candy (Hudgens) Cotty (Korine) and Faith (Gomez) are so desperate to get away from it all they rob and restaurant and flee to Florida for a Spring Break vacation.
The girls party hard until they get a little too drunk and get arrested. They are bailed out by Alien (Franco), a part-time drug and gun dealer and wannabe rapper. Then the fun really begins as he introduces them to his dark world.
“Spring Breakers” isn’t rocket science, but the DVD contains a three-part documentary, “Breaking it Down: Behind Spring Breakers” that sheds light into Korine’s thinking as he crafted the film.
The disc also contain the usual deleted scenes and outtakes, but who’s going to argue about additional footage of Selena and her crew in skimpy bikinis?
“Harmony’s Ear Candy” featurette takes an indepth look at the “Spring Breakers” soundtrack with Skrillex and Grammy-nominated composer Cliff Martinez.
Korine’s audio commentary is also worth listening to. But, in the end, it’s all about the bikinis, right? Check out some of the hottest photos from the movie above and order your DVD from amazon.com through the link below for a super discount.
