In truth their relationship may have been just a case of puppy love that ran its course.

Justin and Selena have broken up multiple times in the last few months, according to gossip site TMZ, which got the skinny from someon “in a position to know.”

The latest split came only last week, but the two have decided to make another go at their relationship.

“We’re told Justin and Selena’s current situation is tenuous … they’re not ‘solid,'” the site reports. “They’re just figuring things out.”

The report is unsurprising and probably accurate. Justin is just 18 years old and Selena is only 19. That’s hardly the age to have a “serious” relationship that leads to engagement and marriage.

Both are focused on their careers and are likely to make that their No. 1 priority for now. Justin is trying to make the transition to a more adult sound and Selena is trying to make it in movies.

The also suffer from the same Hollywood curse as other couples, who spend large amounts of time apart from each other.

In any event, they are way too young to think about marriage, let along children. After a year and a half together, they’ve probably gotten to know each other better and have a better understanding of themselves.

While they make a cute couple, their personalities never really seemed to mesh. And Justin has shown recently that he is a hothead with a quick temper. That can’t be good.

The real tragedy is the way that gossip sites like HollywoodLife have exploited their relationship with stories about how much they love each other. When in reality they are just a couple of confused kids like everyone else their age.
