Khloe Kardashian is apologizing and trying to explain how she came to wear a blouse without a bra on her debut as co-host of Fox’s “X-Factor.” In the cold studio air her nipples puckered right up and were visible to viewers at home.

Was it by accident or design? More than likely Khloe knew what she was doing when she went out on stage dressed in the thin purple top open to her waist.

She was obviously looking to make a big–and lasting–impression with her first hosting gig. But she insisted otherwise today (Nov. 2) as she apologized for the mishap.

“The lining, it’s got a nude lining, it’s not just like a sheer top, which is interesting, and I had no idea,” she told Celebuzz.

“In my room with the dressing room light you cannot see a thing. We were rushed getting on stage… and then I hear in my ear like, ‘You’ve got to fix your shirt,’ and I was like, ‘It’s double sided tape, what are you talking about?’ and they were like, ‘No, your whole areola is out.'”

In the event anyone watching the show missed it, the sly Simon Cowell, who knows a publicity bonanza when he sees one, quickly called attention to her wardrobe on the show.

“May I say Khloe, you’re looking very sexy tonight… I think the air conditioning is on high tonight,” he said.

“You love it,” Khloe responded.

“Ahhhhhhhhh… It’s very distracting,” Simon muttered.

Afterward, she said she scrambled to fix things. “I tried to cover one [nipple] and then during the break we tried to put band-aids or something on it and it didn’t work,” she explained.

“We had to wait until the second break and finally they found something that fixed it. I was more like, it’s my first show, like I’m not stressed out enough … I don’t know anything so I was like, ‘Am I going to be fired?’”

No Khloe, you’ll probably get a raise. So, was it an accident, or intentional?
