Kristen Stewart sat down with Jay Leno on the “Tonight Show” in an interview that was as remarkable for what the “Twilight vampire didn’t say as much as for what she did say. Jay stuck to the script; no questions about beau Robert Pattinson.
Stewart, 22, is promoting the final “Twilight” film “Breaking Dawn, Part 2,” and she assured fans that the movie would remain true to the book except, of course for a mind-numbing twist at the end.
“It is so shocking to be honest” she told the affable talk show host. “I couldn’t be more inside of it; I couldn’t be more in the loop, and every time I see it or even think about it, it gets me giddy it freaks me out!”
For those who have read the book, however, (all 768 pages) “we are not straying too far from… we are always very religiously faithful to details. It’s easy to skim over but you can find the root of our twist [in the book].” she said.
But that’s as far as she would go. So no spoilers this time.
But Kristen did provide some behind-the-scenes detail on how she performed some of her stunts, particularly a scene in all of the movie trailers where she leaps off a cliff and tackles a mountain lion (an endangered species incidentally) for her first feeding as a vampire.
Bella takes down a mountain lion, now tell me about that, your first time doing this?” Jay asked.
“N-no,” Kristen chirped.
“They fashioned this big blue foam tube mountain lion and I leaped off a platform like a linebacker sort of,” she said. “I tasted what it was like to be a vampire for a moment.”
“I hurt myself quite a bit. It was scary at first, but you get used to it,” she said about doing her own stunts.
