John Oliver Mike Pence Last Week Tonight

Donald Trump may be an megalomaniac but Mike Pence is the real whack job. Even Omarosa says so. You’d have to watch “Celebrity Big Brother” to get her lowdown. Or, you could watch John Oliver, who laid out Pence’s idiosyncrasies in hilariously novel way–literally.

Oliver took issue with a new children’s book authored by the Pence family. It hits stores today.

Titled “Marlon Bundo’s Day in the Life of the Vice President,” the book focuses on the family’s pet bunny in Washington, D.C.

But Oliver did the Pence book one better. He used “Last Week Tonight” writer Jill Twiss and illustrator EG Keller to come up with his own version, titled “A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo.”

There’s one big difference right off the bat: Oliver’s Bundo is gay. And that’s a big one.

Pence, a devout Christian, is anti-gay.

“You’ll notice right away that our rabbit has a bow tie, so there’s that,” Oliver explained. “Also, our story is about Marlon Bundo falling in love with another boy rabbit, because our Marlon Bundo is gay, just like the real Marlon Bundo.”

The name is an obvious play on late-actor Marlon Brando’s name. He was notoriously bi-sexual during the 1950s, when homosexuals were widely shunned.

Oliver notes that Pence is the only person constitutionally that Trump cannot fire.

“And that is worrisome, because He’s synonymous with some extreme positions, like his opposition to abortion and gay rights,” he said.

Now, cut to Omarosa:

“We would be begging for days of Trump back, if Pence became president, that’s all I’m saying,” she said on a recent episode. “He’s extreme. ‘I’m Christian, I love Jesus.’ But he thinks Jesus tells him to say things.

“I’m like, Jesus ain’t say that,” Omarosa noted.

Now cut back to Marlon Bundo.

Pence has been a long-standing opponent of the gay community, says Oliver.

Oliver’s book is actually on sale. Proceeds are going to the Trevor Project and AIDS United. Both charities help gay youths.
