Alicia Vikander has taken Hollywood by storm ever since she won an Oscar for her role in 2015 film “The Danish Girl.” She wowed, again, in “Tulip Fever” hot nude scenes and now has her own action movie, succeeding Angelina Jolie in the “Tomb Raider” series.
Oddly, she began her career in ballet and studied with both the Royal Swedish Ballet School in Stockholm and the School of American Ballet in New York.
But her mother is a well-known Swedish actress at the Royal Theater of Stockholm. Alicia appeared as a child in some stage productions. She got into acting through short films and television and switched careers after 10 years of ballet study.
By the time the 29-year-old actress broke out in Hollywood, she was already a seasoned actress in Europe. She caught Hollywood’s attention after appearing in “Testament of Youth” and as an erotic humanoid robot in Ex Machina.
She’s profiled in the latest issue of French publication Madame Figaro, showing off designs by Louis Vuitton Fashion Director Nicolas Ghesquière, whose previous muses included Kristen Stewart and Selena Gomez.
“I like her beauty, I like her choices that go from the most radical auteur film to blockbusters. I like her to know how to transform without betraying herself. I like his restraint very Scandinavian,” Ghesquière tells the magazine.
