Harvey Weinstein’s long run of alleged sexual assault and sexual harassment of dozens of starlets may yet come to end in a court of law. New York City police are reportedly planning to arrest the fallen mogul for at least one case of sexual assault.

In Los Angeles, a similar investigation has been under way that also could lead to charges.

Weinstein is reportedly being investigated for five difference instances of assault, two by the Beverly Hills police department and three by Los Angeles police.

In New York, chief of detectives Robert Boyce said police have handed over evidence to Manhattan District Attorney, Cyrus R. Vance, Jr.. He will decide whether Weinstein is charged with any crimes.

Vance failed on at least two previous occasions to charged Weinstein.

The high-profile district attorney has been accused in the past of going light on the rich and powerful, including Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump Jr., who faced possible fraud charges.

But public pressure may make all the difference this time thanks to the #MeToo and “Time’s Up” movements.

“It’s his case right now,” Boyce said. “I would ask you to ask him.”

In this instance, investigators have been working with women who alleged Weinstein raped them. “Boardwalk Empire” actress Paz de la Huerta may be one of them. She said the mogul raped her twice in 2010.

De la Huerta and other have been interviewed according to multiple reports.

Investigators plan to present their evidence to a grand jury, which will decide on an indictment. But Vance still has prosecutorial discretion to decide whether to go forward.

In 2015, Model Ambra Battilana, then 22, filed a complaint alleging Weinstein groped her. Police set up a telephone conversation between the two and listened in.

During the conversation, the Hollywood producer did not deny groping her, according to The New York Daily News. Publicly, however, Weinstein has denied all of the allegations against him.

Vance refused to go forward, claiming not enough proof existed to bring charges.

This time, it could be different.
