Billy Bush Rips Trump Over Pussy Grab Tape on Stephen Colbert (Watch!)

Billy Bush is getting his second shot at fame–or is it infamy?– thanks to Donald Trump. The President single-handedly renewed the controversy over his 2005 “hot mic” pussy grabbing audio tape by recently claiming it wasn’t his voice.

Bush was there, and he’s getting a shot at redemption with his forthright acknowledgement that, yes, Trump was part of the conversation.

Last night, Bush appeared on “Late Night With Stephen Colbert” to give his most detailed explanation yet about how the tape came about.

Among other things, Bush also ripped Trump in a New York Times op-ed article for attempting to rewrite history in the face of overwhelmingly evidence, including his own apology during the 2016 presidential campaign.

“No one would have printed this, unless the story had come back around again by Donald Trump privately denying it. There wouldn’t have been the moment to bring this bus back,” Colbert said.

“Look, he, last week, for some reason, came out with, ‘That’s not my voice on the tape.’ Like I said, you can’t say that. That is your voice; I was there; you were there; that’s your voice on the tape,” Bush replied.

Bush also noted that 20 women have come forward in public with detailed accounts of Trump’s alleged incidents of sexual assault and sexual harassment.

“When he said this, it infuriated me on the personal front, and then… I read an article with all these women’s accounts,” he said.

“As I read these, 20 women don’t get together and say, Hey, you know what would really be fun? Let’s take down a powerful guy together.'”

“I said, ok, ‘You’re opening wounds on them, too. Enough is enough. Stop playing around with people’s lives. That upset me,” Bush said.

The cultural moment we’re in now–involving sexual assault, sexual impropriety and sexual harassment allegations against powerful people–is putting a new spotlight on accusations against the president, Colbert noted.

“He stuck his finger in this door hinge. It’s really the dumbest thing he could have done,” the talk show host added.
