Selena Gomez left the relative peace and quiet of rehab and jumped right back into the maelstrom she left behind. She was greeted by fake tabloid stories, the usual Justin Bieber speculation and swarms of photographers at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

As she tried to make her way through the terminal, paps bombarded her with questions about, of all things, Kanye West. As if she had anything to say about his breakdown.

She didn’t.

She mostly kept her head down and peered over aviator sunglasses while security clear a path for her through the shouting paparazzi.

Gomez surfaced publicly at the American Music Awards where she talked about getting herself together.

During her acceptance speech for Best Female Artist: Pop Rock, she movingly explained her feelings.

“I had to stop. I had everything and I was absolutely broken inside,” she said. “I kept it all together enough to where I would never let you down but I kept it too much together to where I let myself down.”

Not long afterward, a tabloid claimed she was set to duet with Lady Gaga, who was reportedly moved by her speech. The heart-tugging story, of course, was false, according to Gossip Cop.

On the heels of releasing her own new music, Gaga is focused on rehearsing for the Super Bowl Halftime show in February.

Gomez’s departure from rehab also sparked fake tabloid reports about a possible reunion with Bieber. The story has been circulated so many times, it’s not even old news anymore. It’s ancient news. But tabs keep throwing it out there as click bait.

The singer arrived back in Los Angeles yesterday (Nov. 28), wearing tan-colored leather pants an a white sweater. She paused long enough to snap a selfie with a fan, then brushed passed the paps.

Gomez abruptly cancelled 34 shows in her ‘Revival” world tour in August because she was suffering from “anxiety, panic attacks and depression.”

All are lupus side-effects. Selena was diagnosed with the auto-immune disease in 2012.

In October, she was spotted at the Nashville rehab center smoking cigarettes in a garden. Tobacco smoke has been known to trigger several autoimmune diseases, including lupus. The singer’s outbreaks have required chemotherapy to bring under control, according to Celebrity Health & Fitness.

“I have a lot to be thankful for this year,” Selena Gomez wrote in a recent photo caption. “I’ve finally fought the fight of not ‘being enough’. I have only wanted to reflect the love you guys have given me for years and show how important it is to take care of you!”
