Kim Kardashian is more famous than even she possibly realizes. The reality television personality has entered the lexicon as the very definition of… “lardass.” At least according to the new Apple iOS software for it ubiquitous iPhone. Is it a cruel joke by some Apple coder?

The joke involves the iPhone’s “autocorrect” feature when messages are typed on the phone’s tiny keypad.

As user’s write, word suggestions appear, usually to correct misspellings or to suggests words that are similar to those it doesn’t recognize.

When you type the word “lardass” the name “Kardashian” pops up among the list of suggested word alternatives. (Honest, we tested it!)

The funny feature is now going viral on the Internet. “You’re not wrong iPhone. You’re not wrong,” wrote one Twitter wag.

The word suggestion apparently only pops up with the new iOS software version 9.2. Update messages for the new software began appearing on iPhones last week. How someone discovered the autocorrect anomaly is anyone’s guess. But it doesn’t work on older versions.

To add insult to injury, the world “lardass” is usually a derogatory term, meaning someone who is slow, lazy or has a big behind. Kim certainly qualifies for the latter.

Kim’s butt, of course, is almost as famous as she is, maybe more so. It’s been photographed endlessly and the subject of repeated rumors that she’s had butt implants.

So far, Apple hasn’t tracked down the source of the joke. Some speculate, mischievous programmers added it. Others say it may be based on an algorithm that suggests words based on iPhone usage.

“Someone at Apple thinks they’re real funny,” wrote another Twitter user.

So far no word from Kim. More than likely she’ll figure out a way to make money from it. Maybe she is even in on it. Either way, as they say, there is no such thing as bad publicity.
