Gossip site TMZ is the latest to trash O’Donnell for attempting to throw her weight around on the show. But it appears to have misfired on one count.
The gossip site claimed that Rosie was ticked that she wasn’t brought back to moderate, but it’s pretty obvious that Whoopi was seated at the head of the table from the get-go.
A rep for Rosie confirmed as much today (Dec. 1). “Whoopi Goldberg has been the moderator since Whoopi was hired and Rosie knew that before she took the job,” the rep said.
The miscue called into question other facets of the report, including claims that Rosie is “impossible to work with.”
A source close to the show told IM that Rosie’s biggest problem is her hair-brained comments, absurd positions and her obstinance. She shouts over other panelists and often cuts them off. Some critics have even called her out for bullying.
Producers reportedly cringe every time she opens her mouth. Her comments often lead to an awkward silence on set followed by a sharp rebuke from other panelists.
Elizabeth Hasselbeck often had the same affect, but at least she was consistent with her Christian conservative point of view.
Rosie is all over the map.
The show premiered in September with the new line up, including Whoopi and Rosie, who was billed as a co-host. Actress Rosie Perez and Nicolle Wallace, the house conservative, occupied the other two seats.
Two weeks later the Honeymoon was over. Whoopi and Rosie reportedly got into a heated argument during a commercial break, according to The New York Daily News.
Rosie wouldnt’ stop complaining after Whoopi cut her off during a segment because they had to go to a commercial break. “Fu*k it, I told you to leave it alone and you just don’t want to listen.
“If you want to go there, Rosie, I will, damn it. I’m really sick of your s—!” Whoopi finally screamed.
In October, Rosie went off on Bill Clinton claiming he should have been prosecuted for the Monica Lewinsky scandal, oblivious to the fact that Clinton was impeached, but acquitted.
She kept comparing him to a corporate CEO when clearly the President of the United States is elected and can only be removed from office for specific reasons.
Rosie also went off on a tangent against President Obama, criticizing his policy against ISIS in Iraq and Syria. Her comments was so mis-informed even Wallace found herself defending the President.
She even suggested the government’s interest in attacking ISIS was because “there’s a lot of oil in Syria.” In fact, Syria ranks 33rd in the world in daily oil production, behind such countries as Ecuador and Thailand, according to the CIA World Factbook. Saudi Arabia produces 26 times as much.
Her quickness to condemn Bill Cosby based on decades-old allegations, in most cases, shocked her other panelists.
And the lists goes on. Rosie is so adamant in her opinions, her self-righteousness is turning off viewers. That may be her ultimate undoing.
